Professor Sia Develops Innovative Lab-on-a-Chip

Professor Sam Sia from Biomedical Engineering has developed an innovative and cost-effective means of diagnosing varying pathogens.  This new chip would allow these tests to be done in even the most remote regions of the world.  Click here to read the full story.

CEAA Joins Dean in Welcoming Class of 2012

SEAS & CUMC Team Tests Designs in Africa

Read the full story.  A group from Columbia Engineering and the Columbia University Medical Center traveled to Uganda to test out their designs on devices aimed at improving health among women and infants.  The designs were senior design projects from seniors in the Biomedical Engineering Department at Columbia.

Professor Dirk Englund has been awarded the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE) by the U.S. Government.  Professor Englund holds a dual appointment in Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics. Read the full story.

Professor Hillman Awarded NIH Grant
