CEAA to Honor Two Alumni with Egleston Medal
There are many exciting events to look forward to this Dean’s Day—one of the events we are most excited about is the kick-off to Alumni Reunion Weekend: The Engineering Welcome Dinner & CEAA Awards Presentation. Though this event officially starts Reunion Weekend, all Columbia Engineering alumni are invited to attend as part of our Dean’s Day activities.
Join the Columbia Engineering Alumni Association as we honor two outstanding Columbians with The Egleston Medal for Distinguished Engineering Achievement. The Egleston Medal is awarded annually to alumni of Columbia Engineering who have significantly advanced the profession of engineering or the practice or management of engineering activities in general. This year’s honorees are:
- Michael Abrahams BS’63, MS’64, VP at Parsons Brinckerhoff – A noted structural and civil engineer, Mr. Abrahams’ career has spanned over fifty years, wherein he has designed award-winning tunnels, bridges, port facilities, and buildings across the globe.
- Donald Ferguson ’82CC, MS’84, PhD’89, CTO for Dell Software Group – Dr. Ferguson has nearly twenty-five years of pioneering leadership in creating, developing, and standardizing the foundations of the web server business, as well as being a thought-leader in the field of cloud computing.
