CEAA Co-Sponsors Morocco Project
The Morocco Program of the Columbia University Chapter of Engineers Without Borders, in collaboration with the Peace Corps and HNTB, has worked with the community of Ait Bayoud in rural Morocco to design, fund, and construct a 210 foot simple suspension footbridge. This bridge will serve the thousands of residents of Ait Bayoud during seasonal flooding, allowing consistent access to healthcare, education, and markets.
The anchorages and cables are in place (circled in photo) and a team will complete the project in the summer of 2013.
Professor Testa has served as faculty adviser and CEAA has contributed funding to this project together with other major contributors who are listed in the more detailed presentation to be found at the website http://cuewb.org/morocco.html
