CEAA Honors Three Alumni at Annual Dinner

The Columbia Engineering Alumni Association honored three distinguished alumni at the annual Engineering Welcome Dinner & CEAA Awards Presentation on Thursday, May 31, 2012. The dinner was held in The Rotunda of Low Memorial Library, and had over 300 alumni and friends in attendance.

Xerox CEO Ursula Burns MS’82 to Speak at Class Day

Ursula Burns MS’82, chief executive officer and chair of Xerox Corporation, will address graduates at this year’s Class Day ceremony, the School just announced.  Burns received her MS in mechanical engineering, and has become the first African-American woman to lead a Fortune 500 company.  For the full release, click here.

Prof. Vunjak-Novakovic Elected to NAE

Professor Gordana Vunjak-Novakovic from the Department of Biomedical Engineering has just been elected to the National Academy of Engineers.  Professor Vunjak-Novakovic is the Mikati Foundation Professor of Biomedical Engineering, Vice-Chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, and director of the Laboratory for Stem Cells and Tissue Engineering.  She is the first woman at Columbia University to be elected to the NAE.  For more information, click here.
